A pretty little area full of and surrounded by history from many ages. And cats, of course there were friendly cats! The images are all from nearby the tree itself. Canons, an ancient sarcophagus turned fountain, the entrance to the medieval coastal fortress and statue of Hippocrates himself. And a cat, naturally.

A magical and historical place. The energy of this tree is amazing. We were very thankful to walk over the place where the father of modern medicine Hippocrates thaught his medical students. We highly respect this place, me and my son were doing three symbolic rounds around the tree, in the hope to be blessed. It's a must see when in it comes to ancient sights on Kos. Have fun, be happy and enjoy 🌳🧑⚕️

Interesting spot to take in some local history and culture. Signs help provide information in Greek and English. There's a little gift shop and a restaurant nearby. Restoration was taking place to the building and the castle during our visit, so we were only able to see the statue and tree.

Obviously a place of great historical significance and next to a beautiful old mosque. A lovely café right next to it. It's generally in a beautiful square. Also has an old water fountain, which is great to wash you face and arms off on a hot day.
